Well…there’s getting to be a lot of my own Squidoo lenses nowdays.
I was kind of just playing around. I should have paid more attention. Squidoo Marketing is a good thing for beginning affiliates.
I intended for the Squidoo Sites to be “feeder sites.” ie Sites that collect traffic and then spin it off to a place that it might be easier to “cash” the customer.
I don’t know what I was thinking. Maybe that’s a good idea in some cases but what about the old thought that you should sell a customer right where he is.
Let them buy something right where they are. In a move there is always some loss.
Time out.
When I first started at this online marketing thing my head sometimes felt like it would explode. Not nowdays. Most of the time, anyway.
Because Jennifer showed me how to pick a product and put it on a FREE Squidoo site (lens), get the right traffic to it, and let them buy something.
Get it? LET them buy something! We don’t have to sell.

Back to One Week Marketing. Don’t do what I did! I forgot to pick a product.
I picked a TOPIC instead. Paypal. Wow! There’s LOTS of people interested in Paypal, but what can you sell them?
So I have these sites about Paypal Buttons.
I was having a lot of trouble learning about PayPal buttons back in the spring and Pot Pie Girl (Jennifer) told me to make a Squidoo lens. So I did. Do what Pot Pie Girl says and you will get there.
I made it about paypal buttons which turned out to have LOTS of interest…BUT…what do you sell them? This was worth saying twice!
I don’t want to be purely platonic. If I have traffic I want to find something to sell them. And if I have something to sell I want to find traffic for it!
So it came down to this. I had paypal buttons traffic. They wanted paypal buttons so they could sell something and get paid for it!
So, I decided to sell them “How To Sell On the Internet” information and, by gosh, it’s working! But not so much!
It isn’t much because my traffic is coming for paypal buttons and they didn’t come for marketing info. They typed in “create a paypal button.”
But they must need traffic, right? Well, some portion of them do!
So I’m going to make some money now and then and that’s a LOT better than I was going to do with a site that gave out free paypal button info.
Did I tell you I had made 4 of these paypal button sites. Four!
What was I thinking! I really don’t know. Chalk it up to practice! I DID learn how to make a Squidoo site while building these sites BUT I would advise (now that I know) to learn how to make a Squidoo site that makes money! Still these paypal button sites are getting traffic and growing! But make money…not so much.
So, I guess I’m telling you that I built a Squidoo site in kind of the WRONG way and ended up with a free domain name AND free hosting (that’s the Squidoo deal) but I get the traffic and there’s getting to be a fair bit of it!
Note: If I had followed Jennifer’s plan to the page I would have gotten to make money a lot sooner. You see, I committed a cardinal sin. I designed my Squidoo site for traffic that was looking for FREE stuff! Arrgghh!

So..what have I told you?
I have told you that if you are still one of the lost souls who would like to learn a way to make money on the internet that starting a Squidoo lens is a darn cheap (free) way of ending up with a sort of a website (in many ways better) that Google LIKES and you will get traffic. And you can make some money.
IF you follow Pot Pie Girls Rules. I did and it worked.
It would have worked a lot better if I could follow instructions.

PS: If you like the idea of learning how to make a site that actually GETS TRAFFIC and MAKES TRAFFIC you can then funnel to other places and MAKE MONEY ONLINE you can get this marketing program, start from nowhere and get to making money.
