Keywords Are The Key!
Lately, since I am now a member of The Keyword Academy, a few things have occurred that have completely shifted my game.
Most internet marketers know that they live and die by traffic. You either have traffic, and the right traffic, or you don’t. And when you don’t it is bad.
After all, what good is a splendid offer on a good sales page if no one sees it? Easy to answer.
But a LOT of marketers starve because of this.
I had a weird hang-up about “keywords and keyword phrases” at first and, as a result, I didn’t make any money. I just didn’t understand them AND I didn’t know how to FIND the keywords that I could use to make money.
Here is how money is made on the web.
An offer gets seen by a customer (prospect, traffic, etc.) who wants what the offer provides.
Let’s define it better than that.
An offer for tires comes up on the first page of Google SERP’s (search engine page results) WHEN a searcher types in “good deal on new tires”.
That is a message to market match. The ‘market” is tire buyers. The searcher is looking to buy tires. The offer (message) is “Tires for sale”. Perfect match.
So you want your offer (site) to come up on page one for certain keywords or keyword phrases. In this case we are looking for tire buyers.
So we go to the Google Keyword Tool and we type in something like “good tire deals”.
We will be presented with dozens of keywords, some very close to the original and others very different from the original. Each comes with a monthly traffic estimate. Each comes with an average CPC (cost per click), meaning that is the amount you’d have to pay Adsense
to have a sponsored ad come up in the top ten (first page).
If you get the FREE SEO for Firefox extention installed you can then do the darnedest thing.
That is…you can type into Google your keyword that you are interested in and, when the first page top ten appear you can see the pagerank of the listings!
Why is this cool?
Because, if the pageranks are low (0,1,2,3) you can easily beat them and get on the first page!
What would it mean to you if you were the business that popped up on page one in the FREE organic listings Google serves up for your keyword?
Remember those monthly traffic estimates you get at Google Keyword Tool?
THAT”S what it means to you. Free traffic.
But not just any old traffic! Traffic that typed in your keyword!
Traffic that wants what you are selling. Get it?
